From what we know today, there are more than 180 graves and memorials in Freeman Cemetery. It is a living cemetery, so that changes from time to time with another loss in the local community or the extended community.

When we contemplate the vastness of the interwoven network that we are tied to, our individual threads of life seem far less fragile. The cemetery is an open space among the ruins, covered in winter with violets and daisies. It might make one in love with death, to think that one should be buried in so sweet a place.
